Warriors lead first round of playoffs

Jesse Gonzalez, Reporter

This years NBA Playoffs have been very action filled through this first round. Some very good games have been held and also some blowouts. In the west there was one sweep, one game 7, one 5 game series, and a 6 round series. In the East there was three 6 game series, and one sweep.

In the west, the sweep was of course the Warriors vs Trail Blazers series. The Warriors seem to be ahead of every team in the league so far with their elite shooting skills. The best series through the first round in the west was the Clippers vs Jazz series. This went 7 games and was very exciting. The Jazz ended up coming out with the game 7 win and advanced to the 2nd Round, but most would say that it was mostly because Blake Griffin was out after the first game. The other two series were decent but not very exciting series with the Rockets vs Thunder, Rockets won in 5, and the Spurs vs Grizzlies, Spurs won in 6.

In the east all the series ended in 6 games, except one was a sweep and that was the Cavaliers vs Pacers series. This was easily a series of showing how much better the Cavs are than any other team in the East. The three other series in the East were the Celtics vs Bulls, and the Bulls got out to a 2-0 lead on the series but the Celtics came back by winning 4 games in a row and taking the series. Then the Raptors vs Bucks series ended in 6 also, with the Toronto Raptors eliminating the young Bucks team. Last, it was the Wizards taking out the Hawks in 6.

With the first round over we will see what happens in the 2nd round.
