Yankees claim victory in 18 inning game

18? What happened to 9? Sunday night the New York Yankees played the Chicago Cubs in New York. In the first inning Castro grounded out to shortstop, Yankees score 1-0. In the third inning Baez homered to left (358 feet)  and tied it up 1-1. In the 7th inning Judge tripled to deep center, Yankees lead 2-1. 8th inning Ellsbury homered to right (368 feet) Gardner scores, Yankees expand their lead 4-1. Finally the 9th comes Almora Jr. singles to center, Russell scores, Cubs trail the Yankees 4-2. Baez singles to left, Jay scores Almora Jr. to third, Cubs trail 4-3. Rizzo is hit by pitch, Almora Jr. scores Baez to third, Bryant to second, ties up the game 4-4. EXTRA INNINGS! The 18th inning comes Castro grounded into fielder’s choice to shortstop, Hicks scores, Yankees lead 5-4 and win the game.
