Senior Wrestling Night one to remember

Senior Night for all the wrestlers was a great ceremony and seemed to have helped many wrestlers accomplish what they so much desired. On January 30th the ceremony was performed on the same day that Colton wrestlers had a match against Grand Terrace High school. The wrestlers had set a goal to , be able to have each and one of them win because of their coaches birthday the day after the match.

Many wrestlers were able to reach their goal to win their match, they wrestled and gave it their all, fighting against a school you have several friends at wasn’t too easy. Colton had a few losses but we managed to be victorious and take the win home. Grand Terrace wrestlers were just as tired as our Colton wrestlers but seeing familiar faces was a good drawback.

For the senior ceremony there were posters with every seniors name on all over the Hubbs Gym. For the beginning of the ceremony coach Urea spoke on the microphone about their wrestling season and how proud he was of all his wrestlers. Then he called each senior wrestler one by one and told them he was very impressed with their hard work and the wrestler would then walk through the cheerleaders and two special guests would walk him or her to a chair. At the chair the wrestler would give one of those two special people a shirt that said Colton wrestling with their last name printed on the back. The last wrestler called was the coach’s son, he had to pause for a second to clear his throat he called his son and coach and his wife walked his son to the chair. It was an emotional but yet delightful experience to have been there to watch all the senior wrestlers have their moments.

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
