Colton High School’s Basketball Varsity squad surprised everyone when they captured the Sunkist league crown with an undefeated season; this was their first league title since 1976. They are now only four victories away from winning the CIF title, and face West Torrance High on Wednesday Feb. 13th in the first round of the CIF playoffs. The game will be in the Hubbs Gym here at 7 p.m.
What a year so far for the Varsity Basketball team! After that comeback win against Summit, they scored another victorious win against Bloomington. Although they won by a point, it shows they are ready to win every game.
This game was held in Colton High at the Hubbs Gym. People were expecting for Bloomington to win, it’s a very good rivalry game besides Grand Terrace, but of course the Varsity guys proved them wrong! The score? 57-56.
It’s been a great year for Varsity this year, so far. Their record is 19-4. Still got a long way, playoffs and trying to make it to the finals. But Colton has faith in them and we know they can make it if they have made it this far. We stand fifth in the standings, with Hart as first, Tustin second, Sonora third, and Calabasas fourth. No worries though, the Colton boys can do it!
Something that the other schools don’t have is pride and support like us. We support our guys and girls with the any sports and we show that we care by going to the games and showing out pride.
