NFL needs to clean up its act!

NFL needs to clean up its act!

You may have heard by now about all these incidents happening with these famous NFL athletes. The top, biggest athletes that messed up and that are all over the news and what not would have to be Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Greg Hardy and Jonathan Dwyer. Allegations of domestic violence for three of these persons, and charges of child abuse for one.

The first incident involved Ray Rice, Running back for the Baltimore Ravens, charged for domestic violence. This happened back in February. He struck his fiancé in an elevator at an Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino.  He knocked her out cold and tried dragging her out before anybody saw. But during his attempt, a security guard saw this and immediately reported it. Rice was only suspended by the league for two games. Most people that heard about this were shocked at such little punishment. But then later on the video that captured Rice striking his (now) wife was released–and Rice was suspended AGAIN for the same crime. Rice is now saying that it is unfair to be suspended for the same reason twice. But the reason for this is cause they now saw how serious it was, as well as the public and complaints that came in from seeing the video.

The second athlete in trouble is Adrian Peterson, running back for the Minnesota Vikings, who has been charged with child abuse. This past May, Peterson’s 4 year old son was left with marks and bruises after a spanking administered by the NFL great, and his mother then filed a report to Child protective services. Peterson then turned himself in. Reports say that he beat his son with a small tree branch. Peterson has been suspended from the team until legal problems are sorted out.

Third was Greg Hardy, Carolina Panthers defensive end, who has been charged with domestic violence. The woman says that her life was threatened! Hardy stated that the girl was attacking him first, and cut him with a shoe. Hardy threw her around the room, allegedly being way too rough. The girl says that Hardy was saying that he had guns and that they were all loaded, and she was fearing for her life at that point. Under NFL rules, Hardy will only face a six- game suspension.

Lastly:  Jonathan Dwyer, running back for the Arizona Cardinals, who is facing charges for domestic violence AND child abuse. His victims we a 28-year old woman and an 18-month child. Dwyer is currently being held at Maricopa County Jail.

It seems the NFL has turned into what some are calling the National FELONY League.
