Hey students! Grow up! (and clean up after yourselves!)

Colton High School has been seeing amazing improvements with the school’s appearance for the past couple of years. The outside of the school is outstanding but what about the inside? There are many complaints about the school not being clean enough for the students to be in. Obviously it is hard to maintain the cleanliness of the school with the students not cooperating with the staff to help clean up after themselves.

We have seen great improvements in the campus maintaining its nice appearance but there are still problems and clearly they are not getting solved. One critical area where students say the campus needs drastic improvements is in the lunch area. In any school that you go to there will always be a problem with maintaining a clean lunch area. It is purely the students that seem to not care about their trash or mess they leave behind. Maybe cleanliness is not being enforced enough, but these problems will not get better unless some kind of change is made. Maybe once the students develop respect for their school, they will treat it like their home.

Again you can see how something like this would be very difficult, knowing that some students already don’t respect their school. I believe our janitors are doing an outstanding job with cleaning up the school and after the students, but the students need to learn to somehow grow up before any change can happen in making our school cleaner.

I can also see how some might say this is outrageous for me to say our high school students must grow up but this is my belief. This does not apply to all of the students attending Colton High, but I think the only way to see improvement is for some of our students to respect our school. I am not here to put our students, staff, or school down but I want to see change, and it’s up to us as an entire school to make it happen. So why don’t we make it happen?

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
