Homecoming pep rally pulls out all the stops and amazes

The Colton High homecoming pep rally was amazing. Right from the beginning when we walked through the door and we heard the band playing, we knew it was going to be good. Everyone was amazed when Rachel Peni started to sing the national anthem. She was one of the best singers we have ever heard and was able to hit the high notes just right. All of the students including the teachers were cheering, clapping, and whistling, but that wasn’t all that occurred at the rally.  The next event featured Colton High’s award winning cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders were dressed as fairies did a performance to a song that was fairy themed. It was phenomenal; we did not see a single mistake. We loved their dance; we think that the cheer coach did an amazing job choreographing the dance. After the performance one of the cheerleaders announced that they will be playing some games.

The first game they played–with one person from each grade–was the Snow White game. Each player was instructed to stand in front of their group and hold an apple in one hand and hold it out in front of themselves without dropping their arm for the rest of the rally. The game seemed simple but it sure looked hard to keep your hand up for a long amount of time.  It was fun but tiring. Then the Polynesian group was up.

They were spectacular, dancing to a Hawaiian song. The routine looked fun we noticed many of them were giggling a little and having fun. They wore a pinkish spaghetti strap and a skirt with Hawaiian flowers on them. No one fell behind on their dance and the choreographer did a stupendous job.

Two sophomores, Dominick and Alicia, created a rap that was amazing. The next game they played was the Cinderella game. This is how the game was played there were shoes all over the gym and the princes had to find the right shoe that belonged to the right princess. It was funny and entertaining watching them run every were. The last thing that happened was the football team came out and did their huddle cheer and sang the Colton Alma Mater.

We thought this prep rally was one of the best this school has ever seen.  Congratulations to ASB, the Cheer squad, the dancers, rappers, and everyone else who made it a pep rally to remember.
