School safety is indefinitely one of the most questionable controversies in modern arguments. Safety in general, in public areas, is something that has skyrocketed in awareness since the 90’s. Parents are accounting now for crimes around the neighborhood of their home, but should they be worried about their children’s schooling systems or security? In previous studies there has been multiple accounts of numerous fights at school and the extreme of, school shootings across America.

In 2011, 20% of high school students were bullied at school, and 30+% reported being involved in a physical fight in the last few years. School violence is at its peak since the early 2000’s, as more shootings have happened since 2004 than in American history.
