Only a day after President Donald Trump took office, an estimate of around 3.2 million women marched around the world to protest and stand up for their rights that they feel are going to be taken away during this new presidency. Millions of people marched around the world with one equal purpose of equal rights.

The women’s march happened a day after our new President of the United States took office because of some the remarks that he has said about females in the past. President Trump also has been critical about abortions and the Plan Parenthood organization and wants to get rid of these programs and limit their government funding. Many of the people (especially many women) who support Plan Parenthood and abortions feel that a man shouldn’t decide what is good for women and what they can’t and can do with their body. The people marching wanted to make sure that their voices and opinions don’t go ignored.

The Women’s march was a huge success, millions of people participated and fought for a cause that they believe in. There was 3.2 million marchers, which is significantly more that what some of the people were expecting. Here in California the women’s march filled downtown Los Angeles, there were thousands of people marching with their signs and singing songs. It was reported that 750k people were marching in Downtown Los Angeles peacefully. There was even another women’s march closer to home in Riverside.

Even though the people marching may have not gotten the President they were hoping for, they aren’t going to stand down and take whats thrown at them. Millions of women marched all around the world to show that they are going to fight for their rights and they aren’t going to take what the President has said about women. Overall this march was very important for women’s rights and for women in general. This march proved that not only are women are strong but that they are also determined to stand up for something that they believe in.
