As part of the annual Homecoming festivities, seniors and juniors had a powderpuff football matchup Wednesday October, 19, 2016, smack dab in the middle of Spirit Week. The seniors won the game with one touch down, scoring in the 3rd quarter.

Varsity football players came together to coach the powder puff players. The coaches for the seniors were Jake Lapinski, Rudy Vargas, and Amos Morales. The junior coaches were Jose Mendoza and Jordan Campa.

The MVPs for the juniors were Celeste Ramos, and Janet Marquez. Your senior MVPs were Trinique Jonzun and Abigail Augurie, chosen because Jonzun scored the winning touchdown and Augurie was making amazing blocks.

The reason why Ramos and Marquez were the chosen from the juniors is because they both gave their full effort into playing–they didn’t give up and they were giving the seniors a good matchup. Marquez felt very excited to go up against the seniors; she was a little nervous, but she put up a good game. She was the running back for the juniors and corner on defense.

Ramos was tabbed as junior MVP because she made very good plays, and for being very aggressive on the field. But hey, that’s just Celeste–she always plays with heart, no matter what.

Jonzun, one of the senior MVPs, said, “It was hard trying to score; it wasn’t really easy.” But she gave her full effort and scored the winning touchdown.
