Yellowjacket Cafe offers writing tutoring with your lunch munch

Alexis Ponce, Reporter

Colton High is now offering a new tutoring program at lunch.

For those who are struggling in their classes and having a hard time staying after school, Colton High is now providing a program for students to go to room 253 to get the help that they might need during the day. The Writing Center, which has managed to help over 100 (in one semester) students improve on their writing, will be there to help those who need help with writing or just need help with their English class on Mondays and Wednesdays during lunch.

English TOA (teacher on assignment) Jeremiah Dollins is looking at expanding the peer tutoring program which also includes mathematics; on Tuesday and Thursday students who are taking Algebra II and Geometry you can now get the help you need.

If you decide to get help from this program, make sure you stop by room 253 before school starts to pick up a pass. With this pass you can leave class a few minutes early, allowing you to pick up your lunch and head over to the room. Without this pass you won’t be able to go, so make sure you get a pass, and also if you’re a student struggling in your class, don’t just sit there and watch your grade tank–do something about it and come and support the Yellowjacket Cafe by getting the help you need.

If you have any questions, see Mr. Dollies or Mrs. Hernandez in room 253
