The benefits that come from 5G

The benefits that come from 5G

Our society continues time and time again to have better technology. It is hard to think that 20 years ago, we still had not heard of the iPhone, and we would not hear of it until seven years later. The world we live in is in a technological revolution. We have accomplished a lot with companies like SpaceX, Apple, NASA, Samsung, Tesla, and Intel.

Something new has come up, though. It is called 5G. What is 5G, what will it do for our society, and why do we keep seeing ads from Qualcomm about it?

Do you know how when you turn off Wifi on your phone, and it switches to cellular data, and you see that little 3G or 4G up in the top right or left corner of your phone? Well, 5G is just like that, except that it is better than 4G/LTE, 3G, and 2G. 1G does exist, by the way, but it is just really old and it’s not worth comparing.

5G takes everything about the older generations and makes it better. It is more responsive to things you do, it has better internet speed, and it is more powerful when connecting to devices via bluetooth. Controlling your Tesla with your phone, if you do have a Tesla, would be an example of 5G. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, says that you will soon be able to do it across the continent.

But why does Qualcomm keep talking about it? What are they planning to do with 5G? Qualcomm is a telecommunications company; therefore, they are going to like the idea of 5G and what it can do. Qualcomm states that 5G can help our economy very well and they estimated that 5G can produce around $12 trillion worth of goods and services.

Technology really has evolved in the past few years. We have come a long way from being cavemen dancing around fire in our little cavern around 66+ million years ago.
