Recently the social media giant known as VINE celebrated its one year anniversary on January 24th 2014. The app was created by TWITTER as a better and easier way to share videos on its social media network. Vine is an app that lets people create videos or skits within a seven second span. Vine is known more its funny videos unlike their completion the instagram video which is the same thing just with a 15 second span. But instagram targets a different audience, most of its videos are mostly about daily things and could be funny but everyone knows VINE will be known for videos.
VINE has become a worldwide sensation and has been the fastest growing app worldwide within its four months of its creation; VINE had reached up to 13 million users. Today there are over 40 million users worldwide and more are signing up every day.
Statistically every five seconds a tweet is sent out with a VINE link attached to it. During the times of 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. is when the most VINES are uploaded every day. On April 15, 2013, (the same day as the Boston Marathon Bombings) the most VINES were recorded that day with a record setting number of 19,667.
To celebrate their first birthday the VINE team pulled together a compilation of some the most viral videos, with each one funnier then the next. It has been a good year for VINE and many more years and users to come.
