You might not be safe at home as you thought you were…

Social Media is one of the biggest parts of our daily lives. Even though we spend a good chunk of our time on social media, social media can be a dangerous to you or others. Social Media is a way to stay connected to people who don’t live near us. It’s even a place to go to share your thoughts or post something that’s on your mind. Sometimes your life can be involved depending  on how you use social media. Trying to get a job? Sometimes the people who are deciding whether to hire you or not will look on your social media to see what type of things you post and who you really. When you think your posts are safe and secure, think again.

Even those who aren’t on your circle list can still see what you’re doing, seeing your conversations. Just when you think you’re in a small room with just a few people, you can actually be in a small room with thousands of people seeing what you’re doing. Your private information isn’t so private anymore. When you’re about to post something, think about this: You’re about to tell your friend something, but then you’re aware that the people who are around you can overhear your conversation, but it isn’t some much of how loud your talking but ‘where’ or ‘what’ you are posting matters more.

In general the internet isn’t a safe place anymore, and even less for little children. It would be best to monitor kids or to block specific websites from your children. Social Media doesn’t serve kids much purpose besides distracting them or even getting them into trouble. There has been many cases where kids are getting bullied on social media. Even though the bullying doesn’t happen to them in person it can still have the same effect on the kid. If you decide to talk to people who you’re familiar with. Make sure to be careful who you interacted with because it’s really easy to fake your identity. Social media can be a dark and scary place.
