Did you know that one of the most haunted places on earth is a mere fifty miles from Colton?

The Queen Mary, that vintage ocean liner from the 1930s now nestled permanently in Long Beach harbor, has been voted one of the top ten paranormal places on earth and is known for a one of a kind experience in which ghost hunting guests venture through the ship with some unrested souls.  Some say that the crew members who died there might be part of the many ghosts on board the ship. More than fifty people have either died in accidents, been murdered, or have otherwise departed this earth while staying on board.

Professional paranormal researchers have experienced this for themselves and say, “Throughout our experiences in this ship we confirmed their or some of sailors among this ship. We have heard some children voices and seen a lady in white walking in the halls.”

English Teacher David Rainey decided to visit the Queen Mary for himself on Friday October 30th. He says it’s has always been on his bucket list to visit the ship on Halloween for a ghost hunt.  Also to make his visit even more exciting, he had professional ghost hunters with him.

On the tour Rainey said that he had the ghost hunter with him asking for a man who died there by the name John Pedder.  “John Pedder had been trapped in the lower boiler room and crushed by an automatic closing door and other crew members found him, crushed to death,” Rainey explained.

Rainey said though that there was nothing to see all was normal but he did experience something unusual that night also.  “Toward the end of the trip the ghost hunter took me and the rest of the group down to the indoor swimming pool and tried to get a little girl who drowned there, Jackie, to come out and show herself. Although she didn’t come out the ghost hunter asked if anyone else was present and I swear I heard someone whisper in my ear the word ‘here’ and it wasn’t just me who heard it–a lady standing next to me heard it also!”

At the end of the night Rainey said he had a fun time on this trip.  So go venture the Queen Mary and see if you are brave enough to walk the halls with all the spooks living there.  Tours run every weekend from 11 pm until the wee hours of the morning.
