Colton High “Fact of the Day” – Apr. 8, 2022
Colton High School opened in 1895. It is one of the oldest high schools in the Inland Empire. In this daily feature, we celebrate Colton High’s rich history.
On December 6, 2012, the Colton High Film Studies class, along with members of the CHS Movie Club took a field trip to Paramount Studios. The experience involved a two-hour tour of the studio lot, visits to live sets, and a walk through over 100 years of cinema history.
Film Studies provided students an opportunity to learn how to “read” movies, analyzing them for use of cinematography, blocking, color, costume design, editing, and sound. Learning about the history of the artform also played an enormous role in the course, and trips to studios provided students an opportunity for a hands-on experience.
Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
