New shows grace the small screen this Fall

We’re into a new season on TV and here are a few capsules of new shows you’ll be seeing this fall.

NEW GIRL

New Girl is a charming comedy show about a girl named Jessica (Zooey Deschanel) who is forced to move into an apartment with three guys after she catches her boyfriend cheating on her. Her new roommates take Jessica under their wing and begin to teach her the art of rebounding. Premiered September 20 on Fox.

WHITNEY

You may not know the incredibly funny female comedian Whitney Cummings by name, but you will recognize her from her appearances on Chelsea Latley. Cummings’ new sitcom is about the perils of being a newlywed, making the common mistakes that husbands and wives usually make, except in more hilarious embarrassing ways. Premiered September 22 on NBC.

THE SECRET CIRCLE

Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) is an ordinary girl who tragically loses her mom in a fire and is later forced to move to a new town with her grandparents and begin life in a brand new school. As school begins she is informed by a classmate that she’s a witch with magical powers; from then on, Cassie isn’t your ordinary girl anymore. Premiered September 15 on the CW.

HART OF DIXIE

Rachel Bilson is back on the silver screen in a new show produced by O.C. creator Josh Schwartz; unfortunately, she isn’t coming back as the snotty rich princess Summer Roberts. Instead, Bilson is taking on the role of Zoe Hart a girl who recently graduated from medical school and loses a scholarship to practice in New York; she is then forced to move to a southern town called Bluebell, Alabama. In Bluebell, Hart meets prince charming George Tucker (Scott Porter) only to find out he is engaged. See the love triangle unfold Mondays on the CW.

2 BROKE GIRLS

2 Broke Girls is a show about two girls who become unlikely friends while working at a diner in Brooklyn. Caroline (Beth Behrs) is an heiress who goes broke and gets a job in the working class society of New York; her co-worker Max (Kat Dennings) is the snarky and sarcastic Brooklyn girl, but when these two get together you know there is trouble nearby. Premiered September 19 on CBS.

THE X FACTOR

For all you reality show lovers comes another talent based show worth gluing yourself to the couch and calling in votes for your favorite contestant. From the devious pop star making machine, also known as Simon Cowell, comes the new and improved version of American Idol, called X-Factor. The show features aspiring singers who battle to win a record contract, but unlike American Idol, groups and duos are also allowed to compete for the grand prize. Premiered September 21 on Fox.

TERRA NOVA

In the year 2149, Steven Spielberg imagines that Earth will become a death trap for human kind with global warming in full force, overpopulated cities and towns– not to mention the return of dinosaurs. With his new sci-fi show, Spielberg brings you to an Earth with unlivable climates, and the survivors like Josh (Landon Liboiron) and Skye (Allison Miller) only have one safe place to exist, and that’s Terra Nova. Premiered Sept 26 on Fox.

RINGER

Buffy fans rejoice! Sarah Michelle Gellar is back starring as the twin sisters Bridget and Siobahn in the Ringer. When Bridget witnesses a murder, she hides changing her identity to her rich twin sister Siobahn, only to realize that Siobahn’s life is just as dangerous and twisted as hers is. The Ringer premiered September 13 on the CW.
