Halloween Countdown – 31 Scary Moments – Oct. 16

Childrens' music duo Andrew & Polly scare away the ghosts in this reimagining of a classic movie theme song

October officially marks the beginning of Scary Season. With this in mind, the Pepper Bough is celebrating with a daily dose of creepy moments sure to make your hairs stand on end. Come celebrate with us . . . if you dare.

“Do ghosts like toast?”

This is one of the deep questions childrens’ performers Andrew & Polly ask in “Ghostbusters,” their cover of Ray Parker Jr.’s classic theme song from the 1984 film.

The intent is to help all those little ones who cower under the covers at night, who need a nite-light to fight the spirits lurking in the corners and under the bed, who cry for mom and dad at the slightest groan in the walls as their house settles after another long day. With their quirky questions and chorus of children chanting “I ain’t afraid of no ghost!” Andrew & Polly hold the ghosts at bay.

The duo—Andrew Barkan and Polly Hall—are award-winning musicians who host a childrens’ podcast called “Ear Worms.” They have been recognized by the Parents’ Choice Awards and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers for goofy, heartfelt songs like “Grapes” and “Dancing Pants.”
