As the popularity of anime skyrocketed in the early to late 2000´s it gave rise to a vast amount of new formats of entertainment. With the rise of the digital age, comes various new forms of animation techniques and new equipment to help animators in developing their arts. One of these new forms of entertainment in the animation industry that sprouted in popularity is Line Webtoon.

    Webtoons are manhwa, which is a type of digital comic that originated in South Korea. The reason for its rise in popularity is due to the decrease of print publication of manhwa in South Korea. These digital comics are made more accessible to the general public than its printed counterpart, because it can be accessed on a smartphone. It has managed to spread far and wide reaching and can now be interpreted in about 39 languages.

    It has become so popular that it just recently had a collaboration with Crunchy Roll Animations in 2019 to being the first anime adaptation of a webtoon comic to the small screens, which was Tower Of God and, it was such a smashing success that not more than a year later we got to see another one. Fans all over are now excited to see what comes next.
