“Hunter X Hunter” was one of those series, yes those ones that started off in the early 2000’s but then got rebooted for a newer version one since “newer is better”, but not really. A lot of the time the reboots do live up to the expectation of the old versions, but not in this case for in the case of the series, “Hunter X Hunter”. The series got another chance to shine in 2011, when it was taken up by a couple of new teams, but don’t worry, it did keep one of its original production team.

The original series had just sixty two episodes and ran for 1999-2001, the early run had a total of 4 story arcs which were the Hunter Exam Arc, the Zoldyck Family Arc, the Heavens Arena arc, Phantom Troupe Arc, and the Greed Island Arc. In the 2011 version there were two new arcs added which were the Chimera Arc and the Election Arc. With the addition of these two new arcs it kept the anime running for a total of 148 episodes.

The 2011 version had a bit of a longer run than the original version as expected, it ran from October 1 2011 to the date of the last episode being september 22, 2014. The series was put to an end in a way that hinted at some sort of continuation because there is so much more to explore in their world, and that’s what keeps avid fans like myself on the edge, but so far, there hasn’t been any news of a continuation, nor a revival.
