As the MLS season begins, there is a new team in the league that is there to make a difference. After preparing for the start of their season to go underway, they worked very hard to bring in players to their club in order to be the most competitive team they can be. After splashing the cash on players such as Rodolfo Pizzarro and Will Trapp, both being players who have represented their nation on the biggest stage possible. They began to look like a serious team to go up against in their debut season. As they faced one of the toughest teams on the west coast Los Angeles Football Club, things were beginning to get exciting. I was able to witness history as InterMiami FC faced the Los Angeles Football Club at the Banc of California Stadium. One of the club owners, David Beckham was there to see how his team prepares and to make his return back in Los Angeles. Many fans and staff members were able to take pictures with the man himself, and things began to settle as the stadium began to get full. Carlos Vela, the most valuable player from last season got to play on his birthday in front of the home fans. As the referee blew the first whistle to get things started, both teams got straight to business as they fought their way to score the first goal of their season. Many early attempts from InterMiami FC, but just not quite being able to shoot the ball on target. As both teams fought to score first, the first goal did not come until the 44 minute right before the halftime whistle. It was Carlos Vela, last season’s most valuable player scoring to put his team in front. After getting his first goal of the season the ref blew the whistle for halftime. Once it was over the players got back on the field to finish off the game with another 45 minutes. Both teams continued to fight on as they both had many attempts but neither team was able to score. Both goalkeepers were tested heavily through the remaining minutes of the match. The game ended 1-0 despite InterMiami CF putting up a good display on their debut.
