“Cult of Chucky” latest incarnation of creepy 80s doll flick

“Cult of Chucky” has hit the theaters, and if you’re a fan, then keep reading.

Cult of Chucky” is a sequel to “Curse of Chucky.” Now Chucky is also known as Charles Lee Ray in the famous Child’s Play movies. He was a man who murdered over 30 people and got caught doing it. He gets shot in a toy store and doesn’t want to die so easily, so he transfers his soul into a popular toy at the time, a “Good Guy Doll.” This doll then gets sent out to random people and has to find a kid to transfer his soul into so he can live as a human be in and not inside a doll anymore.

The most well known kid he ends up being with is Andy Barclay. Andy was only 5 years old when he witnessed his parents, babysitter and about 20 more people die right in front of him. Andy got away multiple times but it was up to Chucky to make sure to find him. Andy is where it all started.

Now in “Curse of Chucky” a woman named Nica ends up getting this doll. She has a niece and that’s who Chucky is trying to get to. He ends up killing her her family that lives with her and then she gets sent a Insane Asylum. They believed she was the one who killed her family and not “some doll.”

In “Cult of Chucky” the movie goes on to her being paranoid when this Good Guy doll comes to the asylum. It was sent by her niece’s guardian Valentine. She is a woman who is quite well known to these movies. However, some parts of the movie show the all grown up Andy with the head of a Chucky doll. However, Andy sees on the news that there isn’t just one Chucky doll, there is multiple. Going back to Nica, she is the same way. How can there be more than one doll alive? You’ll have to watch and find out.

I recommend this movie to anyone willing to watch it. It does have a little comedy in it, but all these Chucky movies do. It was a very interesting. However, it is very gruesome so this might not be a movie to watch with children. Other than that, it was pretty good.
