The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, it’s quite a fun game with lots of different ways to play it. I honestly have been playing way too much recently. It’s just so much fun, in so many ways. I want to share to you what makes the game so good.

First thing that makes it good is the way it’s played. It’s a Legend of Zelda style game. It is a game where you walk through levels that are divided into rooms. You go through each room clearing it of enemies that have different mechanics to move onto the next room. All these enemies have so many different things that they can do. This game is not easy, let’s get that out of the way right now. It’s hard and it gets harder the longer you stay alive.

There are over 100 items in the game. Each one works differently with the character you play. Some are really bad like dead cat (it gives you 9 lives but with each life, you only have one heart). Some are really good like brimstone, it changes your “tears” to a high damaging laser, and with every run you’ll get different items in different combinations.

Every time you start a run you start at level one. You slowly collect all these items that change you. You go through each level and fight a boss at the end. Most of the time these bosses are hard unless you got lucky and became overpowered. This game has a high learning curve, and is definitely something that you’re going to fail at the first times.

It’s a game that is challenging but rewarding. There are so many secrets and challenges of this game. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth gets a 9 out of 10. The only gripe I have about it is that the story is really lackluster and not really pronounced.
