Ten years ago a band by the name of Circa Survive released their first ever album named Juturna. To celebrate the album’s ten year anniversary, the band surprised their fans with a Juturna tour, playing the album in its entirety. This tour was talked about between fans all over social media. With excitement, people waited anxiously to hear that the tickets were now on sale. Circa Survive fans are extremely dedicated and loyal; you can tell they are because almost all of the tour sold out.

The city of Los Angeles was one of the many cities that were listed on the tour dates. As soon as I saw this, being a huge Circa Survive fan myself, going was a must. I was one of the extremely lucky people to get a ticket as soon as I could with the help of my friend Jesse, that also ended up attending the show. The venue was at the Shrine Expo Hall & Auditorium, the maximum capacity was of 5,000 people and it was completely sold out. People outside of the venue were desperate for last minute tickets, but none were to be found.

When arriving into the venue, there was a fair amount of people already waiting near the stage to get a good spot and view. As the lights dimmed and the show was about to start, a band called Citizen was one of the opening bands. As this was my third time seeing Citizen live, it was a good way to start off the show. The next band that opened up for Circa Survive was a band called the RX Bandits, that formed very close to here. They formed in Orange County in 1995 and are extremely well known. This was my first time seeing this band live and it was such an amazing experience. They played all of my favorite songs. After they were done playing, the wait to see Circa Survive had begun…

The 15 minute wait to see Circa Survive felt like an eternity; when they finally came on, there was a weird sense in me. It’s unexplainable, seeing my favorite band for the third time. They played all the songs off of Juturna which brought back so many good memories. As soon as the band started performing the crowd went from being still, to getting very crazy. The fans are very much in love with the band and they feel so much towards them, it gets to the point where people don’t care about their surroundings. I was getting pushed, shoved, hit in the face by crowd surfers, and a lot of people were falling because the force of the crowd was too strong to be able to breathe, especially for me being in the front. I ended up getting out of the crowd and heading to the back where the people were much more still. The show was over all amazing, hearing the amazing voice of the lead singer Anthony Green once again was unexplainable. The show created such emotion inside of me. One of the greatest shows I’ve ever attended.
