World War III has begins with the third installment of the Modern Warfare series. Selling 65 million copies in only the US and UK, grossing $400 million in only 24 hours of its release, becoming the biggest entertainment launch of all time. Developed by Infinity ward and Sledgehammers Games, with the help of Raven Software, this addition was released November 8th 2011; a date marked by all gamers as the release that would not disappoint.

Of course the campaign is something close to reality, switching off to different characters, enabling you to experience a variety of perspectives. The main concentration of this story is World War III, having a little glimpse of what could possibly happen if it were real.

The opening scene begins on August 17, 2016 in Afghanistan and ends January 21, 2017. This is one of the best campaigns yet, with the realism of actually being there and experiencing the harsh conditions of the war.

They have also added something to compete against Black Ops and World at War. Survivor mode allows you to battle endless waves of enemies, getting progressively more difficult as you go through the waves. You are able to use any map from the multiplayer as long as you rank up and unlock them. Players earn cash by defeating the enemy waves, and you can use that cash to equip yourself with weapons, upgrades, ammo, and air or ground support. If you don’t like the survivor mode they have also returned with special ops, which provides challenging missions with exclusive weapons designed only for use in this mode.

Multiplayer is very well done with outstanding original game play. The maps all have good dimension, but do seem a little open. They have changed the ranking and unlocking system by adding “proficiency” which provides you with an opportunity to more clearly specify your weapon. Two new game modes have been added. The first is “Kill Confirmed,” where you collect dog tags after a kill to gain points. The second is “Team Defender,” which is a flag based game increasing the owner of the flag by double for each kill. The private multiplayer has game modes like “Infection,” “Drop Zone,” “Team Juggernaut,” “Gun Game” and “One in the Chamber.”

One of the most anticipated games of the year has arrived, and it’s a game not to miss. Add Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III to you Christmas list!
