Network Television Premiere Fall Fantasies

During the mid-fall season, network television has brought us two great new fantasy dramas, Grimm and Once Upon A Time.

Kick the weekend off with Grimm, a show inspired by the Grimm’s Fairy Tales, starring David Giuntoli as homicide detective Nick Burkhardt. Burkhardt discovers that his ancestors were a group of hunters called “Grimm’s” andis soon forced to protect humanity from supernatural beings while maintaining his regular life. It airs Friday nights at 9/8 c on NBC, and has been nominated for People’s Choice Award’s Favorite New TV Drama.

Just like Grimm, Once Upon A Time has been nominated for Favorite New TV Drama for the People’s Choice Awards and also for Best Television Series for the
Satellite Awards.  Once Upon A Time is about a 28-year-old bail bonds-person named Emma Swan (played by Jennifer Morrison) who, ironically, had been abandoned at birth, is sought out by her 10 year old son that she had given up. When she is confronted by her illegitimate son, Henry, her life is changed. He tells her about her implausible background and where he currently lives in Storybrooke, Maine. Despite doubting Henry’s tales that she is the long lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, and that everyone residing in Storybrooke is a character from his fairy tale books including the Evil Queen herself,  Emma slowly begins to believe him. Especially given she has no recollection of where she came from. Once Upon A Time airs Sunday nights at 8/7 c on ABC.
