On September 22nd, the Girls volleyball team suffered a huge loss at the hands of the Grand Terrace Titans in what was a game that will be talked about for a long time. Both teams played their hearts out and gave everything they had on the court. There were so many dives to save the ball that the crowd lost count. As the crowd chants filled the air the walls of the stadium shook.

In the first match of the game Grand Terrace absolutely dominated Colton High School. Colton’s own Stormy Amaya did everything she could to try and save the ball but her efforts failed. At the start of the game, GT was constantly making mistakes giving them the early 2-0 lead. As the score approached 4, GT made a valiant effort and eventually taking the lead. As the game progressed it was a back-and-forth game as every time GT scored, Colton scored right back. However, once GT got passed ten points, there was clear issues on the Jacket offense. Because of the struggle to keep the ball in bounds, GT gained momentum and made the final score of match number one, 24-12, giving them the early lead.

Match two however was slightly different as Colton started out very strong, gaining a lead of 3-1 early. Then, all of a sudden, it turned out to be no different. Colton continued the same struggle as in the first match to keep the ball in bounds. When the score reached 8-11, an interesting feat happened. The ball actually got stuck on balancing on the top of the net, which caused the crowd to burst out laughing. After the slight feat, both teams got the focus back on saving that ball as if it fell on their side. After the game settled down, the final score came out to be 24-14, claiming the Titans the victor.

The final match was the best of the series as it was a back and forth war. Colton was not going going down without a fight. Throughout this match, former class alumni chanted the words “Colton” along with the volleyball girls to keep up morale.

However, GT once again pulled way ahead making the score 13-8 but as stated earlier Colton wasn’t going down without a fight. Colton made the comeback of the century eventually pulling ahead of GT making the score 20-18 in favor of the Jackets. However the lades in Crimson and Gold’s attempts were in vain when GT once again pulled ahead to take the win with a score of 24-21. Grand Terrace took the win and left their enemy territory, 3-0.
