This is what Mexico and the United States will be fighting for. Both teams have always maintained a heated rivalry. But it has always been Mexico with the slight upper hand against its northern rival. On October 10, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California, both teams will battle in a 90 minute affair in which the winner will head to the Confederations Cup in 2017 in Russia.

The USMNT enters the game after a disappointing 4-1 loss, to #5 ranked Brazil, where the team had a subpar performance. Meanwhile, Mexico comes into the game with a 2-2 draw against the #1 ranked team in the world, Argentina. Although the United States enters as the losing team, they have history in their hand. Under their head coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, the US have a 3-0-3 record which leaves hope for the team. But, they also hope to have some previously absent players like Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, and Fabian Johnson to aid them.

However, Mexico enters the game with a much stronger looking squad at their disposal. Players that include Giovani Dos Santos, forward Oribe Peralta, Raul Jimenez, and Javier Hernandez. All these players may have an important role on October 10th game. Finally, Mexico also has the advantage of the location of the game. Held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena Ca, there is expected to be a much larger Mexican fan base that will overshadow US fans. This may have a large effect on the game. But with all things said, the best team will end up walking out victorious.
