Hall of Fame Weekend

What is life without football? Well for those who’s football is their life, they don’t have to wait any longer for the long borderline torture wait for football is finally over, it has returned. Some feel that football begins on draft night or at the start of training camp but teams don’t play each other in prime time tell hall of fame weekend. The hall of fame game or first game of the preseason was between the Steelers and Vikings where the Vikings walked off into the night with a 3-14 victory. Given that it’s only preseason and the stars of the team only play onedrive a game it’s still a small dose for the football starved fans tell the season starts.

Of course you can’t have hall of fame weekend unless you have the hall of fame induction. Being inducted into the hall of fame is one of the single greatest achievements in sports besides winning your sports championship in footballs case is the super bowl. Unlike the super bowl where it’s a whole team achievement being inducted into the hall of fame is for those who might have been one of the reasons that team won in the first place. Every year is special and is filled with ton of emotion but this year had even more.

This years hall of famers consisted of Jerome Bettis, RB, Tim Brown, WR, Charles Haley, DE, Will Shields, G, Mick Tingelhoff, C, and Contributors: Bill Polian and Ron Wolf. With all giving heart felt speeches they all seemed to fall short compared to one hall of fame speech that wasnt even given by the hall of fame inductee but his daughter. The late great Junior Seau a linebacker who spent majority of his playing time for the San Diego Chargers who ended his own life in an apparent suicide. His daughter gave a truly memorable speech for a truly great player and great man who lives through his family and his hall of fame worthy career.
