Football season ends with first round playoff exit in Covina, 49-0

A championship dream was crushed as the Yellowjackets were eliminated in the first round of this year’s CIF playoffs by the Chargers at Charter Oak High School.

After a rollercoaster season, the Jackets ended the year third in the Sunkist League with a 4-7 overall record. This year didn’t click for the Boys in Crimson and Gold, including a three-game losing streak. The season had its ups and downs; the ups included victories against emerging rival Grand Terrace, and former traditional rivals Rialto and Fontana. They also brought the home crowd of Colton some special nights, with the wins at the Homecoming game vs. Bloomington and the Halloween rivalry game vs. GT.

Although vanquising Colton’s greatest opponents was a great feeling during the season, it wasn’t enough to get the team all the way to finals. With this year of football in the books, the players and coaching staff look to make an impact next year and look to go farther and improve. Families, fans, students, and staff congratulate the Jackets and the entire staff for another successful season for their hard work and determination this year .

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
