New safety rules should not be excuse for teachers to be rude

Ever since Colton High began enforcing new rules to keep all room doors locked due to gun violence, teachers have been acting really mean about it. As people go to deliver things to classrooms for students, teachers are rude and shine them off to leave. Clearly not just saying no, but some are shutting the door in students’ faces and showing them out.

ASB and RENAISSANCE do a lot for the school, and for teachers to act like this is not fair and really disrespectful.  Their job is to pass the important things out to the students and be sure that they get that information.

On Teacher’s Appreciation Day, Renaissance delivered a candy bar to all the staff members here at Colton High school. There were some teachers who really didn’t open the door for them and just told them that they didn’t care about Teacher’s Appreciation Day. They should feel honored because we feel appreciated for all they do.

Teachers shouldn’t be so mean to the students or office aides. If they don’t want anybody to interrupt their class they should put a sign on the door saying DO NOT DISTURB.”  That would be better. Instead of just yelling at the students to get out, a sign should just be put up.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
