Fire breaks out at Disneyland Resort

Just before 4:40 on Monday at the Disneyland resort parking structure, a mysterious fire broke out injuring seven employees.

Sgt. Daron Wyatt, a spokesman for the Anaheim Police Department, says they only had minor injuries from smoke inhalation and four were taken to the hospital. There were no life threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is still in the process of being determined. However Wyatt guesses,“Preliminary investigation of the incident has pointed to two vehicles, a 2015 Toyota Prius and a 2001 Ford Expedition, as the possible source of the fire.” Authorities believe the Prius’ storage areas or the Expedition’s engine, 3 feet apart, were the specific causes.

The extremity of the fire makes it more difficult to evaluate and find the real cause.

It broke out on the second floor of the Mickey & Friends parking structure. An hour later the fire was extinguished after a total of 8 cars had been burned: four were destroyed and the other four were damaged. Gray smoke was seen escaping the sides of the structure.

Approximately around 7:50 p.m., the people parked on the second floor were allowed to return to their cars.

Workers did not inform anybody as to why their tram returning to the structure had stopped so they remained clueless until they arrived to the scene.
