On December 28, beloved Debbie Reynolds, a famous American actor especially popular in the 1950s-1960s, lost her life to a stroke.

Reynold’s death took place only a day after her daughter, Star Wars icon Carrie Fisher, died at age 60. Tragically, she was arranging funeral plans for Fisher when the event occurred.

Todd Fisher, Reynold’s son, said her last words were “I want to be with Carrie.” She passed on after those words.

Reynolds’ stroke, known as an intracerebral hemorrhage, only occurs in 12% of the population who have strokes. This occurs when a diseased blood vessel in the brain bursts allowing blood to leak inside the brain. When the blood rapidly leaks, it leads to unconsciousness or death which was her case.

Although the Los Angeles County of Public Health confirmed she had the stroke, further investigation will take place concerning any other issues she possibly could’ve been suffering from. Before she had her stroke, son Todd Fisher says she was complaining about her breathing problems. She lived 84 years of inspiring people through the spotlight.

A private memorial was held at their next door homes. Many inside and outside of show business have had their hearts broken within the week of the death of these two stars.
