Disturbing images of two overdosed parents from Liverpool, Ohio recklessly leaving their four year old child in the back seat have been released. Police reported that at 3:00 pm they noticed the father, James Acord, driving erratic and knew he was intoxicated right away. “The pair were spotted driving erratically in the city of east Liverpool,Ohio by officers before their vehicle came to a sudden stop near a school bus full of children ”according to Liverpool police reports.

The irresponsible father and driver,James Acord of age 47, claimed he was taking his wife, Rhonda Pasek of age 50, to the hospital. He appeared as intoxicated with his head moving in random directions; his speech was described as very slurred.

He tried to escape the officer’s suspicions by driving away but the officer managed to take the keys out of the ignition.

The couple were taken into court on Thursday after they had been taken into a county jail the night before. Acord was charged for operating a vehicle under the influence and endangering children. Pasek was charged for endangering children, public intoxication and not wearing a seatbelt.

Pictures were released on facebook by Liverpool officers to raise awareness for heroin drug abuse. They decided this picture would get the point across to people to think twice because everything they do affects themselves, people around them and their children. “The poison known as heroin has taken a strong grip on many communities not just ours,” says Liverpool police.
