Is technology bringing us closer–or pulling us apart?

iPads, iMacs and iPhones..So many I’s and selfies but not enough Us and We’s.

The average person nowadays spends at least four years of their life looking down at their cell phone. What is that telling us about our generation?

All this new technology with touch screens is actually making us lose touch with each other. Most of us would rather look down at our phone screens rather than enduring at least 20 minutes of silence with somebody. What happened to the days where being bored with friends was the greatest thing?

What happened to the days where you could strike up a conversation with somebody you were interested in and not be distracted by a text or notification? Those moments are now being interrupted with selfies and twitter posts. It seems now that we would rather write an angry post than talk to someone who might actually hug us. We lose precious moments just by trying to take a picture of it rather than capturing it in our mind.

Even Scientific research says that the average attention span of an adult is one second lower than that of a goldfish. How can we let that happen when we’re supposed to be moving forward?  We can’t autocorrect in life so don’t waste it by looking down, But instead look up and notice the blue sky because it’s not going to be there forever.
