Bad attendance? Bad grades? In debt to the school? Well if you are a senior I guess that means you’re on the CAR list. The CAR list is a list that comes out at the end of the year for seniors approaching graduation day and it basically means that you are at risk of not participating in the senior graduation ceremony. This is where this list gets its name from; Ceremony At Risk. Most seniors are placed on the CAR list for the reasons stated before and most of the seniors get off of it, however, for those who do not, they are unable to participate in the graduation ceremony. Just think, it is very disappointing to know that you did all of this hard work to graduate and you were not able to participate in the ceremony because you had too many unverified absences/lates, slacked off on your work, or you forgot to return a text book to the library. It is very important if you are a senior to get off this list as soon as possible or you will not participate in the ceremony.
The list is also created to keep the seniors on track or in check so they won’t slack off and end up not graduating. Most teachers put their seniors on the CAR list even if their grades aren’t bad, just to motivate the students to do their work. If you are a senior and want to get off the list, you have to resolve all of the problems that are stated on it. The CAR list has every senior with an issue regarding grades, attendance, and debt, and all you have to do is look for your ID number to find this information on the list. The list is located by the computer lab and will stay up until the last day of school for the seniors on June 8th. If you are not able to resolve these problem before the end date, you will not participate in the senior graduation ceremony. June 4th is the last day for seniors to turn in any textbooks or any other books to the library and the last day for teachers to take you off the CAR list is June 5th. Seniors, you better hurry up and get these problems resolved because your time is running out!
If you are on the CAR list for attendance there are two more Saturday schools you can attend which are on May 30th and June 6th. You can also attend the last tutoring sessions that are available after school but once it reaches the 8th, you will know whether or not you will participate in the ceremony. Again seniors, make sure you get off of this list by fixing the problems stated on the CAR list and once that is done you’ll be ready to walk down that stage with all of your fellow senior classmates.
