Pioneers, icons, legends, revolutionaries of the music world, some might even call them heroes. All members of the infamous “27 club”, the club is full of popular musicians who all died prematurely at the age of 27, in their peak of stardom.

From Blues to Banda, Grunge to Pop, a loss in the music world is a loss to all. From the days they walked this earth creating music and inspiring people, until this day, they haven’t stopped impacting the music world. They all walked a path where people didn’t dare to look because it was either forgotten or never discovered. But the path they walked cost them more than just their fame but their lives as well. They were many things but one thing they will not be is relics of the forgotten past.

Just the mention of The Doors–anyone who knows this band will first think of the lead singer Jim Morrison, who was also called “The Lizard King.” His music didn’t catch anyone’s attention because it was catchy; he drew in his audience with his unorthodox singing and rambunctious lyrics. He opened a door for people who wanted to try and follow new ideas. Jim Morrison and his band The Doors are trailblazers in psychedelic rock.

Another distinguished artist mostly well known for his out of the box guitar solos and performances, Jimi Hendrix showed the world the mixture of Blues, Soul, and Rock. He led the way for people who were afraid to experiment with music. He showed that there is nothing to fear, the idea of originality is not a bad thing. Judgment can only make you better, a true pioneer for diversity in music.

Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the band Nirvana, created a whole new sub-genre of rock which is now called Grunge. Cobain did not just open a new door, but redefined the 90’s. The creation of grunge blew up a revolution in the music world, and changed the definition of rock.
