Senior-itis strikes early in the year

Senior-itis+strikes+early+in+the+year

A dreaded disease that strikes most high school seniors. A myth, maybe even a legend, made famous by all the seniors before us. Senioritis: yes I said it, senioritis, people! Making it one of the worst things to catch in your life.

What is senioritis, you may ask? It may include a lack of studying, getting arrested, always being absent, many beer bongs and a regular pissy attitude. Symptoms of this so-called disease may include laziness, sleepiness, sweatpants and slippers. The only known cure of this so called seniorisitis is a little (big) thing called graduation.

It is one of the most difficult things to get over in your high school education. All seniors fear it and most underclassmen don’t know about it. Most seniors don’t get it until our second semester, but in rare occasions it can happen to you. It’s just something that comes and goes from time to time. The next thing you know, you walk into your favorite classroom without your backpack (still locked up in your car’s trunk.) But don’t worry, most of this only seems to happen after the first semester has ended. Maybe some fun senioritis activities: pranking, planking on the teacher’s desk, skipping class, and etc.

Ways of maybe avoiding senioritis? Actually doing your work in class, maybe pay attention in class or at least pretend you’re paying some attention. As long as that work is coming in and on time, you’re solid.

Get your work done before you party. If you’re not doing anything and you say you’re bored, do your homework. Do you want your mom to cry because you didn’t graduate? So do your part and do the best you can.

What to do when you have senioritis? Maybe a little suggestion of being cautious with your grades. You can always live it up your senior year; but you always have to have your school gear.

As long as you’re focused and headed towards graduation, you have no worries.

Just don’t get lazy when it comes to that time and keep your head up.

Our Goal

Recently, the CHS Publications Department experienced a major theft as over $20,000 in photography equipment was stolen from our studio over Spring Break. This included all cameras. Any amount you donate will help rebuild our program. Thank you!
