Disney expects Beauty and the Beast adaptation to be huge success

Beauty and the Beast is a live-action adaptation of the classic love story between a hideous prince and a young provincial girl.

The film, directed by Bill Condon, is expected to bring in $120 million from its debut. It’s stellar cast includes Emma Watson as Belle, the princess who decides to save her father by becoming the beast’s prisoner. The cast also includes Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Audra McDonald, and many other notable stars.

The film features all our favorite characters including Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere, and Cogsworth as well as less popular characters such as Gaston.

The adaptation maintains the character’s appearances from the original film quite well. The beast is inspired by many different animals as it has the head of a buffalo, mane of a lion, brow of gorilla, tusks of a boar, legs and tail of a wolf, and body and arms of a bear. Emma Watson maintains her character’s wardrobe, wearing a blue provincial dress through her town, changing into a deep pink dress during Christmas with the beast, and wearing Belle’s classic yellow gown during the iconic ballroom dance.

The soundtrack will include the original movie’s title track “A Tale as Old as Time,” which Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson performed for the movie in 1991. For the live-action film, popstar Ariana Grande and John Legend will perform the title track. Dion is returning with an original song titled “How Does a Moment Last Forever,” written by Alan Menken who wrote music for the original film.

Viewers will have the opportunity to see the new adaptation of Disney’s hit film in theaters on March 17, 2017.
