Imagine a small town in Maine: out of the way, no big deal. But a town filled with romance, breakups, drama, you name it! Almost, Maine is the name of the town and the name of the school play that chronicles life in it. It’s coming to Colton High at the end of September.

In the 2016 school year, the drama club put on amazing shows. From plays to musicals to dinner and a show, none of these plays had left the audience disappointed. 2017 will be no different. The first play coming up, Almost, Maine, is set in the small main town of Almost during a midwinter night. This story is filled with eight vignettes all about love, romance, and the hardships that come with relationships.

Over the years this play has been produced by schools, it has become much more popular than the perennial school favorite, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Many people ask why, it is due to the fact that this story has an ability to connect to the audience much more than other stories. It is set in modern day time and has experiences of modern day issues that accompany many lives.  This play seems full of life lessons that people can use to help their personal lives.

This play will be presented at Colton’s Whitmer Auditorium on September 29 , 30 and October 1 at 7:00 pm.
